Special Recognition Awards

Special recognition awards are awarded periodically to individuals who have made an important contribution to the advancement of school counselling in Manitoba in some unique way.

• 1994 Dennis Lucas, Curriculum Consultant. For his many years of commitment and support to counsellors through his role as Provincial Consultant to school counsellors at the Department of Education and Training.
• 1994 Stewart J. Whitley, Q.C., Assistant Deputy Minister, Public Prosecutions. For his guidance, support and legal advice during the development of the Guidelines for Ethical Behaviour.
• 2002 Wayne Tucker, Counsellor at River East Collegiate. For his contributions to career education and dedication to the Winnipeg Career Symposium.
• 2007 Special Recognition Award - Karen Rayter
• 2008 Special Recognition Award - Sylvia Beaucage-Pena
• 2009 Trevor Kennard, Carolyn Kennard, Lori Chase, Loris Loewen, for their many years of dedication to Manitoba Prospects and their support of MSCA
