Safe and Caring Schools in Cyber Times: Providing a safe and respectful environment for all in the school community involves strategic school-wide planning in the areas of prevention and response. Media framing of incidents and the role of technology has heightened the need to explore the complexities of the school's role. An integrated, collaborative approach based on positive behaviour supports values strategic planning and communication. Session will explore the school counsellor's role (as member of the school team) in the process as educators, students, families and communities work together in providing the basic needs of safety and belonging in our schools.
