CSC - Canadian School Counselling

Editor: Jan Stewart, University of Winnipeg

The Manitoba Journal of Counselling has changed!!!

The Manitoba School Counsellors’ Association has decided to make some changes to the journal. We have elected to change the name of the Journal to Canadian School Counselling in an effort to widen our readership and to hopefully receive more paper submissions.

We have created an editorial board and a list of reviewers to assist with the publication of articles. The review process will include 2-3 blind peer reviews and authors will be asked to submit papers electronically to the editor, Jan Stewart, using the submission guidelines here, or download as a pdf file: PDF icon Submission Guidelines 2009.pdf.

As a transition year, we hope to publish two traditional journals, in print form, and to include newsletter items and current events on a continuing basis on our website. The two print journals will be the February 2010 issue and the May 2010 issue. The summer journal and the fall journal will not be mailed this year and articles received during this period will be published online on the MSCA site.

What is Canadian School Counselling?

Canadian School Counselling is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal written for school counsellors, psychologists, mental health practitioners, clinicians and those who work with students in a Kindergarten to Grade 12 setting or community agency.

CSC publishes two journals a year in partnership with The Manitoba School Counsellors’ Association and The Manitoba Teachers’ Society. CSC invites manuscripts reflecting theory, research, and practice in school counselling. Relevant book reviews, conference proceeding and interview transcripts are also welcome. CSC accepts descriptions of new counselling techniques or programs, and discussions of current counselling issues or strategies for supporting children and youth.
