MB Career Development Gateway

The Manitoba Career Development (CD) Gateway website launched on November 20, 2008. The URLs for the site are:

The CD Gateway provides single window access to career development resources, services and programs across government departments. The reason for the soft launch is to allow an opportunity for staff and members of the Advisory Committee to commence using the site in their everyday work, while providing an opportunity for the work team to make site adjustments before a more public launch.   Feel free to start utilizing the site with client groups and share the site with your colleagues.  The site is an excellent resource for counsellors, project officers... and anyone who is seeking career development information.

This is the first phase of the CD Gateway and we do expect to make some improvements in the second phase of development. Your user feedback would be greatly appreciated, as it will allow the team to implement changes that increase the usability of the site for various user groups and for career development practitioners. If you have any thoughts or feedback on the site please contact Mitch Poitras (945-8362) or Gail Langlais (785-5304).

Please note the intent of the site is to meet the needs of all departments delivering CD services to the public, their client groups, community based services and Manitobans who would like to access CD information independently. The goals is to ensure Manitobans have access to quality CD information allowing them to make informed and intentional career development decisions over their learning and working lives.

“If we are to achieve a richer culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities, and so weave a less arbitrary social fabric, one in which each diverse gift will find a fitting place.”

“These public schools are the bedrock of the society we have built, and public libraries have a place right alongside them. The two are interwoven. They are the warp and woof of our democracy. We still need to ensure that all our citizens have this access to knowledge, to the skills and opportunities that they need if they are to participate responsibly in society. Our schools and libraries are essential to this success, to the social equality that Canadians are working so hard to build.”

~ Adrienne Clarkson, Former Governor General of Canada
